Responsibilities: As the Head of Religious Education, you will be responsible for the following:

  1. Leading and managing the Religious Education department, including supporting and motivating staff members to deliver high-quality instruction.
  2. Developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that reflects the national standards and encourages students' spiritual and moral development.
  3. Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing appropriate interventions when needed.
  4. Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to promote cross-curricular initiatives and develop an integrated approach to education.
  5. Organizing and overseeing extracurricular activities related to religious studies, such as trips, workshops, and guest speakers.
  6. Ensuring that the department's resources, including teaching materials and technology, are up-to-date and effectively utilized.
  7. Keeping abreast of the latest developments in religious education and incorporating innovative teaching strategies into the curriculum.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Religious Studies or a related field (a master's degree is preferred).
  2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  3. Proven experience teaching Religious Education at the secondary level.
  4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  5. Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment standards for Religious Education.
  6. A passion for religious studies and a commitment to promoting tolerance, understanding, and respect for different beliefs.
  7. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.
  8. The ability to think creatively and implement innovative teaching approaches.
